London Broil with Onions 1 1/2 pounds flank steak 1/3-cup vinegar 1/3-cup salad oil 3 tablespoons brown sugar 3 tablespoons soy sauce 2 medium onions, sliced 1 clove garlic, crushed ½ teaspoon coarsely ground pepper Place the steak in a shallow glass dish. Mix remaining ingredients; pour over steak. Cover dish with plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight, turning steak occasionally. Remove steak and onions from marinade. Grill steak 2 inches from medium coals until medium rare, about 6 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. At same time, cook and stir onions in aluminum pan or skillet on grill. To serve, cut meat diagonally across the grain into very thin slices; top with onions. Yield: 4 servings.
