Oven Stew 2 pounds boneless stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes 5 medium potatoes, pared and cut into 1 inch cubes 6 carrots, peeled and cut into bite size pieces 1 medium onion, coarsely chopped 1 (14 to 16 ounce) can green beans 1 (14 to 16) ounce can of stewed tomatoes 1 tablespoon seasoned beef soup base 4 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper Enough liquid to cover, (water or tomato juice) Brown beef cubes if desired. Mix all ingredients in a covered oven roaster. Bake at 275 degrees for 5 hours or until beef in tender. 8 generous servings.
